By Eric Bergofsky The snow and sleet started coming down around 3:30 PM, so by the start of the 4:30 PM game there was a layer of snow on the turf and orange balls were a must. College to six wins in a row, the Cardinals opened up a 9-2 lead early in the second half of their game Wed., April 4 in Middletown and never let the Camels get closer than six goals on their way to a 14-7 triumph. Wesleyan, ranked 12th in the latest IWLCA Division III poll, has a major challenge ahead when it visits Williams, ranked eighth in the country, Sat., April 7. Against Conn., Wesleyan extended a slim 3-2 margin to 7-2 at halftime with four different goal scorers in the final 7:19 of the period. When Sophia Kim '08 got her second of the game on her way to a four-goal output, followed by Charlotte Hasting's '10 free-position tally in the opening 4:05 of the second half, the Cards had their largest lead of the contest and kept the Camels at bay the rest of the way. |
